Clean Elections Minnesota is very pleased to announce that Mary Hartnett will become our first Executive Director, effective February 14, 2022. With a strong background as a nonprofit executive, Mary brings a wealth of leadership experience to the position. She has served as executive director for other Minnesota nonprofits–most recently (2000 – 2109) for the Minnesota Commission of Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing, a state agency.
With each organization Mary led strategic planning efforts; developed and implemented legislative strategies, including Lobby Day events; and directed successful fundraising efforts to increase organization budgets. Her work has led to the passage of more than 90 pieces of legislation. With the Commission she developed work plans to conduct non-partisan voter education and get-out-the-vote efforts in cooperation with the Secretary of State and the Minnesota Council of NonProfits.
Most recently, Mary has provided management consulting services to nonprofit organizations and foundations. She has also lobbied for a broad range of organizations. In that capacity she has prepared testimony, monitored hearings, and met with legislators to advance legislation.
Welcome, Clean Elections Minnesota Executive Director Mary Hartnett!
